As we have seen the speed and number of cores our processors are have we have also seen a considerable increase in CPU temperatures. This has brought about the need for more effective and cooler operating heatsinks. It is also becoming standard fare to see these heatsinks coming with more than one heatpipe installed as well.
The heatsink we are looking at today comes from our friends at Thermaltake, as you know Thermaltake has build it's reputation on quality computer cases and accessories starting back many years ago with their orb cooler. Since then we have seen many improvements in their offerings which brings us to the unit we are reviewing today. This unit is sold as the Model TMG IA 1.
Include with the TMG IA1 you will find fastening hardware for both the AMD and Intel sockets, along with four very small screws which are used to hold the Intel brackets to the base of the heatsink. These screws are easy to misplace so be careful when using them as there are no extras included with the heatsink. There is really no need to explain how the hardware works simply because if you have installed any heatsinks you can handle these.
