Over the last two weeks we have reviewed a number of power supplies from
companies such as Cooler Master, Zalman, Ultra and now Antec.
They have ranged in power from 600 all the way up 1000 watts and we have
seen various methods of cooling each of these power supplies.
The Antec 850 True Power Pro Quattro has the smallest fan of any of the
power supplies we have tested which might be a problem considering how dense
everything is packed inside the case, but we shall see how well it handles
our tests onces we get started.
.
Notice that the power supply has two massive heatsinks that pretty much
obscure the view of anything beneath them. The only other item visible
is one of the filter capacitors and a toroidial coil on the side of the
supply which is hidden behind the protective plastic shield.
Since we can't see that much inside the unit let's take a look at the
placard and see what the unit is going to offer us supposedly. Looking
at the placard we can see that the 850 TRUEPOWER Quattro has four 12 volt
rails rated at 18A each as well as 30A on the +5V and 25A on the +3.3V rail
which if true means this power supply should operate any most system on the
market today.
