The Accessories

Each of the video cards contains one Crossfire header connector, these simply slip down on the headers of the two video cards when you wish to configure then for a crossfire setup. As we mentioned earlier some think it is proper to use two of the connector links but the only time I think you would really need to use two of them is when you are interconnecting three video cards together.

Included with the Sapphire HD3850 have a 6-pin connector with a Molex connector on the opposite end so that you can power the video card.  Next up is the composite leads that morph into the an S-Video connector.  Just in case your monitor does not have DVI cable on it they also provide a DVI to VGA adapter and beside it you have the DVI to HDMI connector which you can use to connector your system to HD-Television.

The software bundles supplied with most video cards in this day and age are pretty lame, it seems most of the time the software maker is just trying to dump last year's software.  That is not the case with the bundle that Sapphire provides, in the carton you will find full working copies of  PowerDVD 7, Futuremark 3DMark06 and The Black Box with Half Life 2, Portal and Team Fortress.

As you can see the bundle isn't to bad after all when you consider that 3DMark06 will cost $20.00 to register and Sapphire has that covered for you.  Power DVD happens to be the most used piece of software for watching your DVD collect and now that they have added the ability to watch Divx movies we can get rid of un-needed software.

The 10-page instruction manual is a little on information, or at least information that you will find useful.  The manual appears to be a generic book used for both AGP, PCI and PCI-e video cards and there in nothing mentioned about Crossfire in the material.
