Packaging

Recently there have been a few other sites reviewing the Lian Li Armorsuit PC-P80 enclosure, but if you look at the case we are reviewing the first thing you will notice is the fact that our case is blood red and it also comes with a windowed side-panel where we will find a cut-out that is the shape of a spider and has the words ATI Crossfire X stenciled and cutout of the side-panel.  Also located on the front of the case are ten individual highlights of the case which we will cover in more detail as we progress through the review. The side-panel of the shipping carton is where you will want to turn to get all of the specifications for this case.

Exterior View

Being that this is the first Lain Li case I have had the pleasure of reviewing I wasn't really sure what to expect, I had heard people talk about how well they were put together and especially how light they were.  Opening the shipping carton and getting my first look at the P80R I have to admit I was pretty much awe struck. For starts the case is a perfect red color and that even includes the thumbscrews used to hold the side-panels and power supply in place.

My first thought when I saw the louvered top ventilation stack on the case was that it had a water cooling system attached to the top of the case.  The louvered stack attachment actually serves two purposes, the first is it provides three sets of louvers to allow the warm air at the top of the case to be expelled by the 140mm fan attached to the top of the case. The second purpose for the stack is located at the front where you will find a cover-plate that bears the name of Lian Li.  Opening this lid and you are presented with one eSATA connector, one Firewire connector, four USB connectors and a headphone and microphone jacks.

Looking at the left-side panel you can see the handy work that Lain Li has done, the oversized spider gives you numerous angles by which you can see inside of the case.  To the right of the spider we have text that spells out ATI Crossfire X, since we will be installing a Crossfire X system inside of our case it is only appropriate that it be on the case.

If you look at the right side-panel you can see that it is non-descript with no vents or fans through which air can be brought into the case.  Overall I really like the design presented on the left side-panel, the cutout spider and text add a touch of class to an already beautiful case.

Looking once again at the stack located on the very top of the case we can now see one large and one small button.  These two buttons of course are the On/Off switch and the Rest switch.  The flip-up door we mention earlier has raised letters that spell Lian Li and to gain entry to the door you simple lift the front tab and it will reveal the accessory panel we described early.
