With the cover removed from the reservoir module you can see how the unit is put together.  The clear plastic reservoir has a total capacity of 260ml which is enough capacity keep the average processor cool, especially in light of the fact that this unit is rated at being able to handle 600 watts.

In the front of the reservoir you can see what looks like a paddle wheel that serves to let you know that the fluid is circulating in your tubing.

The Installation

Installation of the Cooler Master Aquagate Max is pretty straight forward, a few of the things that you want pay special attention to are things like cutting your tubing so that the ends come out square to the tubing. The second thing is make sure the tubing is all the way against the end of the connector, since the screw on fittings act as a compress fitting the only way it will work correctly is if the tubing is place as far up on the connector as possible. The next tip may seem like a no brainer but I am going to tell you it anyway so it doesn't happen to you like it did me. The first water cooling system I built  looked absolutely beautiful when I was finished, the only issue was I had not left enough tubing in place so that I could pull the reservoir out so I could put water into it. The final bit of advice it to install most of the system outside the case until the unit has been ran for 24-hrs to see if there are any leaks.

Here you can see the system as we prepare to add our coolant and start our test.  You can clearly see the two temperature sensors that are located one on the intake and the other on the outlet of the radiator.  You will also notice that I have left a large loop of tubing to insure that water can be added to the reservoir.

After trying to install the radiator in the Cosmos S I found out that the Aquagate Max requires a special mounting plate so that the radiator can be attached to the case.

We will give you result of the test at the end of the review when we do our direct comparison of the two watercooling systems.
