A Closer Look
The B-Gear B-Tarantula is packaged in high-gloss aluminum box which utilizes the near silent 135mm fan for cooling. The rear of the unit does not have an exhaust fan and during our testing we found that this did not cause any ill effects on the power supply. Overall the 135mm fan seemed to work exceptionally well as we were able to feel a great deal of warm air being expelled from the rear of the unit during our stress-testing phase of our review. The rear of the power supply has a 100+ opening in it which allow the warm air to be expelled with the minimal amount of resistance. The remaining ventilations openings are located at the front and one side of the power supply where there are a total 14-individual slots on the side of the power supply and 14-slots at the front of the unit.

Voltage/Current Placard |
Located on the side of the power supply you will find the Voltage/Current placard that will tell you exactly what the expected voltages and maximum current rating is for the power supply.
Whether you are using a brand new motherboard or one that still makes use of the 20-pin power connector the B-Tarantula will work perfectly on either motherboard thanks to the use of the 20+4 power connector cable.

Modular Pig-tails |
Having reviewed numerous power supplies in the past this is the first modular power supply that uses connecting pigtails rather than the hard-wired modular connector.. One benefit of using this type of connector is the fact that it is far easier to hook your cablse to rather than trying to find the correct connector on the power supply once it has been mounted in your case.
