Having just went out and purchased a new EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB video card, (yes you read that right I went out and actually paid for it with my own money). When I got it home and plugged them into my Gigabyte P965-DS motherboard and then plugged a Seasonic Power Angel in-line with power cord going to the power supply to see how many amps of current the video card was actually drawing.
This is where my problems began, I was using a 700 watt power supply from a reputable manufacturer, which had no problem handling a ATI X1900XT video card, but would not so much as even spin a fan on the 8800 video card. Thankfully OCZ has sent us one of their new Game XStream Power Supplies rated at 1010 watts to review. I was going to need all the power I could get when Directron sent the second 8800 GTS 640 I purchased arrived.
