Introduction

When it comes to cooling your PC you have a choice of 4 ways to approach it. The first and also the oldest is the fan and fin method where a large hunk of metal is attached to the motherboard and either a single or a group of fans are point at you computer to keep of from going the same route as Chernobyl.

The next option is to cool your system with water, some people shy away from water cooling systems simply because they have been brought up to fear water and electricity together. They have a reason to have a health respect for a water cooled system, but mainly for the fact that you might end up with a computer case full of scorched components.

You might want to try going the silent PC route and do away with the fan and perhaps under-clock your system. Don't expect great performance when you go this way since you are stepping on everything's toes.

The last method is to use a Peltier to cool your system, a peltier is a plate that is hot on one side a cold on the other. So as the heat is blown out of the case the cold side of the pelteir is resting on the CPU to cool it.

Today we are going to be using the fan and fin method with a helping of heatpipe tossed in for good measures. The Cooler Master GeminII just very well may be the largest heatsink you have ever laid your eyes upon.
