Anandtech - Cooler Master already showed their new Silent Pro series at CES and CeBIT, and now we finally have the shipping product in our hands. However, so far only a few models are available, and with the lawsuit initiated by Ultra Products regarding modular power supply patents, Cooler Master unfortunately is not yet able to sell this series in the U.S. market. Rumors say that most of the affected companies have begun appeals against the patent, but they still await further court rulings on this case.

Tom's Hardware - A recently leaked Intel slide, assuming it can be believed, has revealed Intel’s updated roadmap for mainstream Nehalem platforms and it would seem Intel has some changes in mind. Apparently due to "customer feedback" and "2008 client platform learnings", Auburndale and Havendale will now be pushed back for release into January 2010. According to earlier leaked Intel roadmaps, Havendale was previously planned for Q3 of 2009 alongside Lynnfield, but now it would seem that only Lynnfield will be available in time for Christmas 2009.

The benefits of solid state drives, including incredibly low random access times and consistent random and sequential read speeds, are all apparent with Intel's drives but in many areas the performance of the X25-M was well above even our previously tested SSDs. Anything that involved reads from the drive, such as burst rates and sustained read tests, saw a big performance advantage for Intel."

Techpowerup! - NVIDIA's new GeForce 9400 GT Series is based on the same G96 GPU that is also used on the 9500 GT. The 9400 GT has half the shaders however, which seriously limits the uses of the card in a gaming PC. On the other hand this greatly reduces the heat output which allows a completely passive solution. Point of View differentiates their card by using 1 GB of video memory and bundling a full version of the Wall-E game.

Test Freaks - " Today for review I've got an interesting product from Altec Lansing, it's made specifically for portable audio players like iPods, and mp3 players or really just about anything that has a standard audio mini jack output. It's called the Orbit-Mp3 Portable Audio System, and it is portable, it's small and lightweight, the one thing interesting about it is that it is only one speaker, but that one speaker is supposed to provide a 360 degree sound field to project sound in all directions."

Hardware Secrets - The black and silver Flip that we reviewed, however, was amazingly more substantial-looking. The only difference is that the black is a matt finished material that has a rubberized look. This finish is also easier to hold and makes the Flip feel better in the hand. Our advice is that if you decide to buy a Flip, you check out the different cases before you purchase. The colored cases are cute, but the black and silver case makes the camera look like a more serious device.
